Hoppity

If I were a little bird
I’d hoppity hop step hoppity around
looking at the ground
and you would have no idea
I found
you
people do not notice little birds
on the ground
minding their business
going about their pecking
but just a little too near
to human shoes
then to not offer comfort
but then you blink and
off they go
